Advances in Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorders:

This course is for physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants who practice general pediatrics in the ambulatory or hospital settings where children with cancer and blood disorders receive care.
Specific topics covered will include benign hematologic conditions such as hemophilia and hemoglobinoapthy as well as malignancies including acute lymphoblastic leukemia and brain tumors. The course will also provide guidance to pediatric providers who must decide when symptoms like lymphadenopathy and bone pain should prompt suspicion for cancer.
